Easy Moisturizing Honey Face Mask Recipes For Acne All Skin Types

Honey has many beneficial properties for skin. Honey face masks are soothing for inflamed skin, antibacterial for acne breakout prone complexions and hydrating for dry or environmentally damaged skin. It’s even good for reducing scarring when added to rosehip, almond, argan or borage oils.

Honey is such an easy ingredient to work with. You can add it to mask bases like yogurt, mashed banana or avocado, or mix it with almond oil and lemon juice to make a cleanser. It is a natural humectant, meaning it draws water and humidity from the air to it – and your skin.

Here are some easy recipes to make using honey as a base:

Normal to dry skin honey face mask:

1 tablespoon honey

for very dry skin add ½ teaspoon avocado oil

1 tablespoon of almond, olive, soybean or any other oil

1 egg OR mashed banana OR ½ an avocado

Mix well together until the blend forms a puree. Apply to skin and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing off.

Lightening honey face mask:

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon of almond oil

½ teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon cucumber juice or pulp

Mix well together well. Apply to skin and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing off.

Acne honey face mask:

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

3 drops tea tree or lavender oil (can use neem or rosemary oil also)

1 tablespoon of almond, olive, soybean or any other oil

Squeeze of lemon juice

Mix well together well. Apply to skin and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing off.

Aloe honey sunburn treatment: n95 mask

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon aloe vera juice or gel

1 teaspoon cucumber juice or pulp

1 tablespoon unsweetened plain yogurt

Mix together well and leave in fridge or freezer until cooled sufficiently (10 minutes is enough). Apply to red burned areas and leave on for ten minutes then wash off. You can also apply aloe juice direct to soothe burned skin.

As you can see, it’s easy to make and apply simple recipes for skin using honey with other ingredients.

For acneic skin the addition of antibacterial and antimicrobial oils like extra virgin coconut oil, lavender, neem or tea tree oil to a honey base makes a powerful acne mask treatment.
